CCP Student Wins Bronze in American Culinary Federation Competition
By Chef Tom Macrina
Jonathan Adair, a second year Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management (CAHM) student, participated in a one-hour hot food ACF (American Culinary Federation) competition at Boston University on October 4, 2009, where he won a bronze medal. This was Jonathan’s first ACF competition. Winning this ACF competition gave Jonathan the opportunity to qualify to compete for the ACF Northeast Regional Student Chef of the Year. The ACF Northeast Regional competition was held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in March 2010. Jonathan received a silver medal in a very close competition.
Jonathan is one of three Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students who are on the Philadelphia Student Team. The team practices on Mondays at the College and are coached by CAHM part-time instructor, Chef Maria Campbell, Chef Maria’s husband, Chef Scott Campbell, and Chef Tom Macrina, who is managing the team.
